Terms of service
These terms apply to your use of storejoanna.com and to any order you place with us. We sell and deliver to Australian addresses only. To place an order you must be at least 18 and legally able to enter a contract. Nothing in this paragraph limits, restricts or modifies the consumer guarantees described below.
Who we are
storejoanna.com is operated by Black Ants Group Pty Ltd, ABN 77 682 530 801, of 1b Mangarra Road, Canterbury, Victoria 3126, Australia. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Black Ants Group Pty Ltd, trading as Store Joanna.
Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under that law. Where any term here is inconsistent with it, that law prevails and the term does not apply to the extent of the inconsistency.
Repairs and spare parts
Because the makers of our products have no place of business in Australia, the Australian Consumer Law treats us as the manufacturer of the goods we sell. We give you this notice now, before you buy, as s 58(2) of the Australian Consumer Law allows: we do not hold spare parts for our products and we do not offer a repair service, so spare parts and repair facilities will not be available for the goods we sell.
This changes nothing else about your rights. If a product fails to meet a consumer guarantee we will put it right with a replacement, a refund or compensation rather than a repair. Where the failure is major, the choice between a refund and a replacement is yours, not ours.
Orders
- Every piece is made to order. Placing an order is an offer to buy, and your payment is taken at that point. A contract is formed when we email you an order confirmation, and your piece then goes into production. If we cannot accept your order for any reason, we refund you in full straight away. You are never left having paid for something we are not going to make and deliver.
- We must deliver within 45 days of your order. If we cannot, you may cancel and be refunded in full. You may also cancel for any reason within 48 hours of ordering. See our Returns, refunds and cancellations policy.
- We may decline or cancel an order — for example where an item is unavailable, where there has been a pricing or description error, or where we suspect fraud. If we cancel after you have paid, we refund you in full.
- We may limit quantities per customer or per order.
Pricing
- All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST.
- Prices may change without notice, but a change will not affect an order we have already accepted.
- If a product is listed at an obviously incorrect price, we will contact you before despatch and give you the choice of paying the correct price or cancelling for a full refund.
Product information
We describe our products as accurately as we can. Our furniture is made from real timber, so grain, knots and tone vary from piece to piece, and colours can look different between screens. Stated dimensions are accurate to within about 10 mm. If a product is materially different from its description when it arrives, that is a failure of a consumer guarantee and our Returns and refunds policy applies.
Delivery
See our Shipping and delivery policy, which forms part of these terms. Each piece is made to order by our furniture maker in China, shipped to Australia by sea freight and delivered free to your front door within 45 days of your order.
Returns and refunds
See our Returns, refunds and cancellations policy, which forms part of these terms. It sets out your rights when something arrives faulty, damaged, incorrect, not as described or late. Those rights come from the Australian Consumer Law, and we cannot and do not limit them. Because every piece is made to order, we do not accept change-of-mind returns, but you may cancel for any reason within 48 hours of ordering.
Your account
If you create an account, keep your password to yourself and tell us as soon as you think someone else has it. Until you tell us, you are responsible for orders placed through your account — unless the problem was caused by something we did or failed to do.
Acceptable use
Do not use this site to break the law, to infringe anyone's rights, to introduce malicious code, or to attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or data.
Intellectual property
The design, text and images on this site are owned by us or used with permission, and may not be copied or reproduced commercially without our written consent.
Our liability
We are responsible to you for loss you suffer that is a reasonably foreseeable result of us breaking this contract or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable.
Nothing in this clause limits our liability where the law does not permit it to be limited — including liability arising under the consumer guarantees, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
Privacy
See our Privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version published on this page when you place an order is the version that applies to that order, and we keep dated copies of every earlier version — if it ever matters, ask us which one applied to your order and we will send it to you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Victoria, Australia. You may bring proceedings in the courts of your own state or territory.
